Today wasnt very exciting. After waking up and getting ready, we went to pick up Minna's friend Henriikka and then the 4 of us went to Kuopio to go grocery shopping. We went to a store that was a lot like Walmart. I bought a pair of running shoes so I can go for runs to the beach in the evening. This is my plan :).
We went to a few stores in Siilinjärvi and figured out my phone. I chose to use Anni's old phone so that I can't talk to my friends every 2 minutes. I figure this will help with the homesickness that is to come.
Plus, everyone here has Nokia phones and I feel like a Finn if I have one.
I also bought coloured pants (everyone in europe has them). I wasn't so fond of them when I first saw them but I LOVE THEM now. They are like a teal/green colour and I just love them. I wish I could wear them everyday.
Today, I met another girl, Roosa who goes to my school. She rides horses with Minna and she was very outgoing and not afraid to speak English to me. This makes me feel better about school.
Also, people keep messaging me on facebook asking me about if I am going to Lukio or not (that means highschool). I am not as nervous anymore.
I went to my first Rotary meeting today. I was scared that they would be very shy but they weren't. I met my counsellor, president, secretary, YEO and past president. They were all very nice. Plus, one of the Rotarians has a daughter that lives in Parry Sound. We only stayed for about 10 minutes because we didn't want to eat and we had to go pick up Minna! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I am already pretty comfortable going again. I think I will be even more after meeting my Principal again tomorrow :)
No sauna tonight, I am just ready for bed!
